Autumn/Winter 2011 Lip Colours

I love lipstick and this season has some hot colours! My favourite for this autumn/winter are:

Intensely color saturated coverage with no shine. A collection of classic and dramatic matte pigments that are long-wearing and non-drying, so that each gorgeous, feminine shade glides on and stays put.

Face Stockholm Matte Rouge Lipstick £16.50 from Victoria Loves Beauty

Rockalily London Mans Ruin

A creamy and luxurious berry lipstick. Its semi gloss and very film noir! Man’s Ruin Lipstick £14.00 from Rockalily

Susan Posnick Colourduo

What further differentiates this lip pencil from others on the market is a built-in, patent-pending, lip plumping agent that immediately adds depth and fullness to the lips. Plus, with ingredients including Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E, COLORDUO delivers deep, long-lasting moisture and hydration.

Rouge Colourduo lip pencil £18.50 from Susan Posnick

Red lipstick

The 3 colours swatched side by side. L-R Matte Rouge, Man’s Ruin, Rouge colour duo.

Very impressed by the long lasting colour of all 3. They stayed on after drinking and eating. They are matte but you could add a clear gloss over the top to give your pout that little bit extra!

New Make Up to be launched from Illamasqua

I know I keep ranting on about Illamasqua but I truly haven’t been in love with a make up as much as this before now! I had the honour of being one of the 1st people to try out one of the new foundations being launched very soon.

I wore this foundation for the best part of 6 hours and did not feel it on my skin I had comments about how flawless it looked on me too! The thing was I had to tell people that I was wearing it because they couldn’t see it on my skin. That is what I call a perfect foundation:

  1. You can’t see it
  2. It feels like skin
  3. It has all over flawless coverage
  4. It can be applied in different ways e.g. Brush, fingers, sponge.

It comes in 18 shades to suit all skin tones.

Skin base launches this summer!!

Illamasqua School of Make Up Art Courses

Drag Star Superhero

I attended the Illamasqua School of Make Up last year and I was so impressed with the teaching I decided to go on another course about something I know very little. You guessed it Drag make up! One of my favourite West End shows is ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’. I love all the glamour of the show! I think about how much time it must take a drag queen to do their make up and the skill involved. After doing this course I know it takes a lot of time to perfect!

We all watched Daniel in action as he showed us how to create the look on the lovely Sally-Rose. It was amazing to watch and I learnt so much from the course! You can never learn too much about make up techniques!

A messy job but a good attempt, complete with false lashes!

There are lots more courses available and I intend to do them all.

Illamasqua School of Make Up Art

Last night I had the best time ever at the Illamsqua School of Make Up Art on a course called ‘Night Time Diva’ The course is aimed at professionals and consumers and shows you how to use colour and new techniques to create a look for the evening or ‘Night Time Diva’.

On arrival I was greeted by everyone with a very warm welcome and a glass of champagne! I was so excited that I bought lots of things before I’d even started the course.

The School of Make Up Art is located within the Illamasqua Flagship Store at 20 Beak Street, Soho, London, W1. Book early to avoid disappointment, I can see these courses being a sell out!!

I was so impressed with my look that I had to meet up with a friend afterwards just so that I could show off my new look, she loved it.

Adam used me as the model and I was amazed at the colour scheme he put together to create the most dramatic eyes I’ve ever had!! I was delighted with the results.

Adam created my eyes using Liquid Metals Enrapture and Resolute £17.00 each, Powder eyeshadows – Machine and Daemon. Precison ink – Alchemy £16.50 above the upper lash line. Eyebrow Cake – Vehement £14.00. False lashes No. 21 £14.00 on upper lids and No. 6 £12.00 under lower lashes. Volume mascara – Harness £15.50.

Once everyone had watched the demonstration we were let loose in the store to create the look on ourselves. Of course I loved mine so much I didn’t dare remove it. There are so many colour choices I dare you to enter at your peril!

The ‘Night Time Diva’ course is £50.00 and worth every penny. To find out more visit their website www.illamasqua.com
