Getting Married Abroad

With winter upon us many of you will be thinking sunshine thoughts. Weddings abroad are increasing because of guaranteed sunshine. There are a few things to think about before jetting off to the sunshine though.

If you burn easily in the sun avoid stripping off as soon as you get to your destination. The last thing you want is sunburn on your wedding day! Invest in a really good suncream with a minimum SPF15. Build up your sun exposure in short bursts.

Think about strap marks! Having a lovely strapless dress with tan lines in your wedding photos isn’t the best look.

Give your face and body an all over exfoliation before you leave the UK. Skin looks better when its hydrated. There are lots of face and body products on the market.

If you opt for a fake tan before you arrive. Remember that the chlorine in the swimming pool will make it go streaky and having a fake tan doesn’t mean you have protection against the sun’s rays. Always do a test fake tan you don’t want it to go wrong!

Take care of your hair. Have it trimmed regularly and use a deep conditioning masque before going away. The sun can be so drying on hair.

Here are some Top Tips from weddingsabroad.com they are specialists in international weddings!

Weddings Abroad – Consider the following:

Dress Its best to use a wedding dress that does not have too many layers or artificial fabric if your chosen destination is hot! Choose your shoes carefully too.

Budget Always check and double check the small print to ensure all essential services are covered including legal fees and document charges you don’t want any last minute surprises for additional costs.

Guests Choose your guest list carefully. Decide who you want at your ceremony, remember these people will also be on your holiday!

Climate Check out the weather carefully for your wedding destination, especially hurricane season. Beware of getting married in the midday sun, instead opt for a later ceremony.

Glowing Beware if sunbathing prior to your wedding, you don’t want strap marks if you are wearing a strapless gown. Also don’t forget the sunscreen on your nose, the Rudolph look is not good on the wedding photos.

A Hawaiian Holiday!!

This year I went on holiday to Hawaii and I can’t tell you how beautiful and amazing a place Oahu is. Before I went I had the pleasure of chatting to an amazing photographer that’s based in Oahu called Jeannemarie on Twitter. Before I got there we organised a day that would be convenient for both of us to do a shoot on the beach.

I have the pleasure in just posting a few of her amazing photos and if you’re ever in Hawaii look her up. She’s a fantastic wedding, honeymoon and fun photographer!

Check out her website here for more great images!! I highly recommend Jeannemarie!

Fabulous For The Beach

If you re getting ready for your sun holiday and want to look great on the beach here are a few things that will help you look great.

A full body exfoliation will remove all dry skin to give your skin a polished look. A weekly scrub in the shower is very invigorating and helps the skin to absorb your body moisturiser.

If you want to use fake tan make sure you exfoliate weekly to remove any excess build up, concentrating on your knees, heels and elbows where the skin is driest and the tan will appear darker.

Use a sun cream with a minimum SPF 15 and monitor the amount of time you re in the sun. Try to avoid the sun between 12pm and 3pm which is the hottest part of the day and when you re more likely to burn. If you do burn easily then cover up during the hottest part of the day and wear a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30.

Get into a routine of drinking at least 2 litres of water daily, this will keep your skin fresh and hydrated whilst out in the sunshine.

Have a detox weekend before you go, avoid alcohol, tobacco and caffeine, eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and grilled fish or chicken and drink lots of water to cleanse your body.

Have a manicure and pedicure just before you go, this will give the finishing touch to a great bikini body.

On the beach less make up is needed so invest in a tinted moisturiser to suit your skin tone, look for one with an SPF 15. Alternatively for the first few days on the beach a bronzer can be used on the face to give you a tanned look.

An eyelash tint will give the lashes colour and saves time having to apply mascara before hitting the beach.

As your tan develops, ensure you moisturise your face and body daily to rehydrate the skin

To improve the appearance of dimpling on thighs, dry body brush daily from knee to hip following each brush stroke with a stroke of the other hand, working upwards towards the heart stimulates the circulation and helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Wear sunglasses to protect the delicate skin around your eyes and the eyes themselves, look for sunglasses that have a UV400 protection to deflect harmful rays from the eye area.

Wear a hat when lying in direct sun or walking on the beach to protect the face from UV rays and prevent sun damage and premature ageing.

Happy Holiday
