Looking After Your Make Up

The best way to store your make up is in a cool dry place. The bedroom or in a make up case are the best places. Bathrooms are too hot and humid and the damp is a breeding ground for bacteria. Windowsills aren’t a good place either because of the extreme temperature changes, it can affect the shelf life of a product.

Keep some disposable applicators handy to avoid cross contamination if using a multiple use product. Fingers shouldn’t be used to remove products form containers. Use a cotton bud or disposable applicator and mix the product on the back of your clean hand then dispose of the applicator.

Make up goes off just like food does. Be aware of expiry dates which should be clearly written on the packaging. The shelf life is longer if the product remains unopened and is stored correctly.
